The NFL trade deadline is approaching, and the playoff picture is beginning to take shape, with contenders separating themselves a bit more with each passing week.

There reportedly are three from the same division that may be looking to make an aggressive move ahead of the Nov. 4 cutoff.

“The NFC West is so interesting. With the [Los Angeles] Rams at 5-2 and the [Seattle] Seahawks at 5-2, the [San Francisco] 49ers at 5-3, and you look at the recent history of those three teams in particular, they are the kings of the trade deadline. These teams like to do trades before the trade deadline. I am so curious to see which one of these teams are like, ‘You know what? Let’s go out there and make a mega, out-of-nowhere move to try to get an edge in our division, and win this division, and get that home-field advantage in the playoffs,’” Ari Meirov said.

Meirov stopped short of identifying a specific trade that the Seahawks, Rams or 49ers could make that would take them to the next level, but there are plenty of players to choose from.

The Rams would appear to be the likeliest to be aggressive, given the fact that they have draft picks to deal, while quarterback Matthew Stafford is having an excellent season and likely doesn’t have much time left in his career.

Los Angeles made a solid trade when it acquired cornerback Roger McCreary from the Tennessee Titans for a late-round pick swap, sending an early signal that it is willing to make deals.

It’s a fascinating divisional race, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see any of these teams make headlines at the deadline.
