The Indianapolis Colts have had a soft schedule so far.
Yet they made a big statement by defeating the Los Angeles Chargers on the road in Week 7 to stay atop the AFC.
A lot of that has to do with quarterback Daniel Jones.
The former New York Giants bust has revived his career with Indianapolis, which has been a revelation to most people, but not to everyone.
“Colts head coach Shane Steichen says Daniel Jones’ ‘rebirth’ is ‘not a surprise to me.’ Says he believes Jones has been a good quarterback the whole time he’s been in the NFL,” Dominic Miranda wrote on X.

The Giants selected Jones with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, but arguably failed to give him a helpful supporting cast.
Then, general manager Joe Schoen chose to keep Jones instead of running back Saquon Barkley, and while that proved to be the wrong decision almost right away, that vision could be coming into view.
Jones should be the leading candidate to win Comeback Player of the Year, but he should also be a strong candidate for NFL MVP.
In winning six out of seven games, he’s completed 71.0 percent of his passes for 1,790 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions.
He also has 29 carries for 83 yards and four rushing touchdowns.
He has helped the Colts post the best statistical offense in football, and punting has been a rare sight.
Sometimes, all a player needs is to find the right system and environment, and Jones is thriving under Steichen.
This should be the end of the line for former starting QB Anthony Richardson, as it’s hard to argue with the Colts’ status as legitimate contenders with Jones.
