The Denver Broncos appeared finished against the New York Giants, trailing 26-8 with less than six minutes left in regulation.
What followed was one of the most improbable comebacks in recent NFL history, as Denver stormed back to claim a 33-32 victory.
The Broncos scored three touchdowns in the final minutes before kicking a game-winning field goal as time expired.
Rookie quarterback Bo Nix orchestrated the entire rally, putting together 33 points in just 15 minutes of game time.
Analyst Colin Cowherd recently argued that the criticism surrounding Bo Nix misses the bigger picture of what the rookie has already shown.
While he admitted Nix may not possess the upside of the league’s elite quarterbacks, Cowherd drew an interesting comparison.
“Bo Nix is never gonna be Mahomes. He doesn’t have that ceiling. He’s never gonna be Josh Allen. He may never be Lamar or Justin Herbert. But he’s Klay Thompson. He’s gonna be involved in championships. He’s gonna be involved in winning a lot of football games,” Cowherd said.

He sees shades of a steady, composed Dallas Mavericks veteran in his game.
Cowherd drew a comparison to Klay Thompson‘s legendary 37-point quarter with the Golden State Warriors.
That performance didn’t elevate Thompson above Stephen Curry or Kevin Durant, but it confirmed his Hall of Fame caliber and ability to explode in critical moments.
Cowherd admits he’d prefer to see more consistent production from Nix, especially against strong defenses like New York’s, which controlled him for most of the contest.
Nix made history by becoming the first player ever to rush for two touchdowns and throw for two more in a single fourth quarter.
That level of execution under immense pressure proved Denver has a quarterback capable of delivering when games hang in the balance.
