Injuries to guard Aaron Banks and tackle Zach Tom, and Elgton Jenkins’ struggles to adapt to playing center, had an effect on the team.
That’s why it was good to see the line fare much better after the bye week.
As shown by The 33rd Team, the Packers posted the third-best pass-blocking grade in the NFL in Week 6.

The list is based on average rankings of time to throw, pressure rate, and sack rate, and the Packers trailed only the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Granted, Green Bay faced a Cincinnati Bengals’ defense that has failed to put pressure on the opposing quarterback whenever Trey Hendrickson is held in check, and he left the game with a back injury.
Yet, this was impressive and encouraging nonetheless.
Even a talented quarterback like Jordan Love can only do so much when he’s not being given enough time and room to operate.
The Packers have a myriad of weapons, and they can move the ball against any opponent.
While offensive line play might not be sexy or flashy, games are won in the trenches, and pass protection might be as important as quarterback play.
The Packers now face another vulnerable defense when they visit the slumping Arizona Cardinals in Week 7, and hopefully, the offensive line will continue to rank near the top of the league.
