Analyst Shuts Down Narrative About Matt LaFleur

The Green Bay Packers have a good head coach.

However, their fans don’t always feel that way about Matt LaFleur.

Analyst Wendell Ferreira recently used an important statistic to shut down those who want the Packers to fire LaFleur.

Through the first five weeks of the season, LaFleur ranks fourth in the NFL as an offensive play caller, trailing Klint Kubiak, Shane Steichen and Josh McDaniels.

Granted, LaFleur has his fair share of questionable decisions, and he’s often been too conservative down the stretch of games.

Then again, there’s simply no way to deny his impressive offensive results.

It didn’t take long after Aaron Rodgers’ departure that LaFleur was finally able to deploy his offense, and the results speak for themselves.

Of course, that’s not to say that he should get a pass for everything he does.

This is the Green Bay Packers, and anything short of Super Bowl contention should be unacceptable, especially considering the elite roster they’ve put together.

They must compete at the highest level every year.

That’s why the fans’ patience might be running out, as they hoped to be undefeated instead of just 2-1-1 this season.

Yet, unless the Packers vastly underperform in the regular season, or one of LaFleur’s decisions costs them in the playoffs, there’s no reason to believe they will even consider the thought of letting him go.
