Inept policy continues. You’ll recall that tariffs were going to save the US from deficits.

Well, they never were.

And, besides, Trump is spending the money instead of chipping away at the deficit:

• proposing $1000 to $2000 rebates to taxpayers with tariff money
• and for farmers … his administration is subsidizing Argentina to sell soybeans to China. So China doesn’t have to buy US soybeans. So the US is going to have to bailout of its own soybean farmers.

Anyway, just noting all this. The deficit hole is getting deeper and deeper. None of it is surprising.
