Stats Show How Impressive Jordan Love Has Been On Third Down

For years, fans have been on the fence about Jordan Love.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback has looked great at times, showing shades of the savviness he learned from watching Aaron Rodgers.

Other times, he’s looked like the worst version of Brett Favre, making erratic throws and turning over the ball.

This season, however, Love might be playing the best football of his career, and he has been spectacular on third down.

According to Zach Kruse, he’s leading the NFL in passing yards (327) and first downs passing (18) in that situation.

He’s also second in touchdown passes (3), and fourth in yards per attempt (9.3) and passer rating (110.1).

While not the most mobile QB, he also hasn’t been afraid to take off and use his legs, with three scrambles for 49 yards and three first downs.

Love drew a lot of criticism for his late-game interception in Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns, and rightfully so, as it may have cost his team the game.

Yet, he was the only reason why the Packers were able to keep up with the Dallas Cowboys in their Week 4 tie.

Love is taking better care of the football for the most part, and he’s making better decisions.

This season will be crucial to determine whether he’s the QB this team needs going forward, and even though he still has his fair share of detractors, the numbers and the eye test are backing up his case so far this season.
