Broncos Veteran Says Key Player’s Return Will Be ‘Huge’ For Offense

The Denver Broncos will get one of their most dangerous weapons back on the field on Monday night.

Evan Engram missed the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, but he’s fully expected to return to face the Cincinnati Bengals for their primetime game.

With that in mind, Mike McGlinchey gushed about his impending return:

“He’s about to get going and help us win,” McGlinchey said of Engram.

Engram is incredibly talented as a pass-catcher, and he’s a perennial big-play threat and mismatch because of his size.

Unfortunately, contrary to what McGlinchey says, it has been years since he was a significant factor in the passing game.

Of course, he’s a good and physical blocker, and his return should open up more lanes for the running game.

But so far, he’s been barely involved in the passing game, hauling in just four receptions on six targets for 33 receiving yards.

Additionally, his lengthy history of injuries raises concerns about his durability.

Nevertheless, the Broncos haven’t been as good as advertised this season.

They’ve dropped two games in a row after struggling to beat the lowly Tennessee Titans at home in the season opener.

Granted, they’ve faced two tough and well-coached teams in the Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Chargers in back-to-back games, but that’s still disappointing.

Now, getting to face a Bengals team that’s coming off a terrible outing against the Minnesota Vikings might be just what they need to get going.

And even though they shouldn’t be as bad as they look on Sunday, Sean Payton’s defense could certainly do more than enough to shut them down.
