The Green Bay Packers need to trust their rookie playmaker.
They’re keeping Matthew Golden on a short leash, but the young star is proving that he can handle a bigger workload.
That was the case again in their Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Despite going against an elite defensive team, he still managed to haul in all four of his targets for 52 yards.
He also added three rushes for nine yards.

Granted, that might not sound like much, but he was responsible for more than 25 percent of the Packers’ offensive production in Week 3.
Also, he was much more efficient than star running back Josh Jacobs, who averaged 1.9 yards per carry.
The Packers are easing Golden into action, but it’s time to take off the training wheels once and for all.
Fellow wideouts Jayden Reed and Christian Watson are out because of injury, so the table is set for the first-round pick from the 2025 NFL Draft to showcase his skills and prove what he can do.
He’s perhaps their fastest player, and they need to make the most of his big-play potential.
Fortunately for him, he will face one of the worst defenses in the NFL in Week 4.
With Dallas Cowboys’ cornerback DaRon Bland nursing a foot injury and Trevon Diggs struggling even when healthy, Golden could be in for a breakout performance.
There’s a lot of hype around him, for good reason, so it’s time fans get to see Golden fully do his thing.
