Jalen Carter Gets Honest About Spitting Incident

The 2025 NFL season officially started with the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys.

The first half of this game saw a lot of scoring from both teams, an exciting start to the year.

While the play on the field was exciting, it was slightly overcast by a decision DT Jalen Carter made.

Before the game started, Carter decided to spit in Dak Prescott’s face, immediately getting ejected and being unable to help his team’s defense.

Carter is slated to be one of the Eagles’ best defenders this season, so this ejection and setback weren’t something they were expecting coming into this game.

It remains to be seen if he’ll be punished further, either by the league or his team, but he received a lot of negativity on social media for these actions.

Carter talked about this in a postgame interview at his locker, noting how sorry he was for acting in this manner.

“I feel bad for my teammates and the fans out there. I’m doing it for them,” Carter said, via Mike Garafolo.

Carter feels like he let his teammates and the fanbase down by doing this, and knows it’s something he can’t do again.

Getting frustrated and talking trash in the heat of a moment is one thing, but NFL athletes don’t take kindly to getting disrespected, which is what happened to Prescott in this moment.

Hopefully, Carter can move past this and figure out how to act more professionally in the future; otherwise, his NFL career might not last very long if antics like this continue.
