Christian Angulo and Mason Schermerhorn, both 14, were killed Wednesday at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia by Richard Aspinwall and Cristina Irimie who both taught math there respectively. Aspinwall also served as an assistant football coach. As police reported, these four people died at the hands of a troubled student aged 14 who wielded an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle similar to those used in recent school shootings, authorities revealed their names: Christian Angulo; Mason Schermerhorn; Cristina Irimie and Richard Aspinwall (GoFundMe; Instagram); Apalachee High School In Winder, an town with 18,000 inhabitants approximately one hour’s drive outside Atlanta, residents braced themselves for funeral services for four victims who died there while being safe spaces meant for safe spaces for safe spaces for learning environments for learning environments — portraits began appearing of those four who made headlines only weeks ago if that occurred if anything at all — as Winder residents began learning of these four victims’ images from social media accounts of them having died there in this terrible tragedy – with GoFundMe pages set up on GoFundMe pages of those killed becoming known among relatives indefinitely so. Christian Angulo’s family were shocked and appalled to learn he was among two students fatally shot on August 10. Lisette Angulo set up a GoFundMe page for her brother after hearing of his passing suddenly and unexpectedly, as Lisette explained that Angulo “was only 14 years old, was very sweet, caring and loved by many”. We are truly heartbroken as his loss came as such a shock – something no-one deserved. We need your support to bring justice for him now. Friends of Mason Schermerhorn told The New York Times that she recently began attending Apalachee High School and was anticipating an upcoming vacation at Walt Disney World. A memorial of flowers and balloons grew outside Apalachee High School on Thursday in Winder, Georgia with Jessica McGowan/ Getty Images: He really enjoyed life,” Doug Kilburn, 40 a friend who has known Schermerhorn’s mother for 10 years told the newspaper. “He always took an optimistic view on everything. “Lilianah Ahmed, identified as Schermerhorn’s sister on Instagram, posted to say her brother had not survived the school shooting,” according to TODAY. In another since-deleted post by Ahmed she also revealed he was autistic.” On Thursday students kneel before an makeshift memorial outside Apalachee High School where one of their math teachers, Cristina Irimie from Romania – aged 53 was shot and killed during an attempted armed takeover.” She belonged to Atlanta Romanian immigrant community.” “She dedicated her life to shaping the minds and hearts of students and community members alike,” wrote Corneliu Caprar in a GoFundMe campaign he initiated to raise money for her funeral costs. Caprar made her appeal for donations in both English and Romanian and included a photograph of Irimie wearing flowers in her hair as an image. Silvia Pasch, 65 years old and also from Atlanta, says they first met approximately seven years ago at Saints Constantine and Helen Church outside Atlanta where they often volunteered their services or raised funds for its upkeep. “I don’t know how I will handle not seeing her anymore,” Pasch told CNN. She remembered when their friend organized children from church for a folk dance at an outdoor festival earlier this year; something Pasch described as tragic: she remembered them calling out at least 30 children during practice sessions to organize one at the festival earlier. Pasch described their friend as someone special: they met twice yearly at church service meetings to plan folk dancing routines during festivals earlier in 2017. She described this tragedy: Richard Aspinwall: Math Teacher and Defensive Coordinator in Apalachee Wildcats FootballTeam Richard Aspinwall was not only an outstanding math teacher. In addition, he was married, the father of two daughters, and served as defensive coordinator on Apalachee Wildcats football team. Ariel Bowling, 15, from Apalachee High School has spoken up and described Aspinwall as her math teacher and described him as having been “one of the kindest souls ever. “I would just like people to remember him as being very generous with his time and push you, while being hardworking,” Bowling said of his brother-in-law. John Poitevint, head football coach of Mountain View High School in Gwinnett County near Atlanta, noted Aspinwall served on his staff from 2022-2025 coaching special teams and defensive backs on special teams – until 2022 to be exact – as special team coach/defensive backs coach until their last contact two weeks ago. “He was an extraordinary individual putting himself last,” Poitevint reflected. Poitevint remembers Aspinwall being very humble; you always knew if you needed help, he’d always be there. After hearing of Aspinwall’s shooting shortly afterwards and calling Aspinwall unsuccessfully to contact him directly “I just hoped everyone was okay… Never would’ve imagined this would’ve happened”, Poitevint lamented. “I kept trying to contact Ricky but was met with silence in return. He had long been my closest aide. On Thursday, Robert McCrimmon and Jaden Hunter, 17-year-old seniors at their high school, carried bouquets to honor those lost during Thursday’s shooting incident at school. McCrimmon mentioned to authorities knowing of previous threats by alleged shooter Aaron Long as they remembered classmates and teachers lost in this senseless act of violence. Hunter noted traumatization for many as she expressed uncertainty whether she can return. It seems very sad as something could have been prevented if we knew he said such threats existed prior to taking such drastic actions.”
