Austin, Texas — After narrowly evading an electoral primary challenge by his party’s right wing, one Texas Republican who successfully navigated it has stated on Thursday that their party will likely lose control of Congress this November.

“What frustrates me the most is my firm belief that House Republicans will lose the majority, and this loss will come about by our own doing,” according to Rep. Tony Gonzales speaking at Texas Tribune Festival attendees.

Gonzales lashed out against what he perceived to be an atmosphere of blame that pervaded both parties within the House — an institution he believes has fallen prey to a cycle of oppositional oversight hearings of any party that comes to power.

Gonzales faced censure from the state Republican Party for voting to support legislation which increased gun safety and same-sex marriage protections.

“This issue is far from hypothetical; its economic realities are clearly visible; more middle class Americans are falling further behind when it comes to access to quality health care services.

Are we discussing some of these everyday kitchen table issues? No – all this discussion revolves around who to impeach.”

He stated that both parties in Congress shared an attitude in which “it’s someone else’s fault… [but] oversight should only be part of our job… This means “Congress’s job should be to deliver for its constituents, yet this administration certainly failed in that role in its 118th session of Congress”.

“That is why it’s vitally important for the House to lead,” he stated. “Let’s be transparent with what happens; let’s have these conversations rather than simply assign blame elsewhere. In these uncertain times ahead, I believe we need people with steady hands who can bring us all together while maintaining focus on delivering real results.”

Gonzales contended that Texas Democrats’ inability to leverage an ever-increasing share of Texas electoral vote into victory had contributed to their ineffective performance against Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy in Texas.

He claimed Texas Democrats were failing to communicate their message effectively and are caught up in an all or nothing approach which only brings failure for them. “Their message has not reached anyone. Unfortunately they’re getting nothing back for their efforts.”

He noted how this plays well for Republicans since state Democrats “have yet to develop strategies and messages targeting more than just their base voters.'” “That works well for us Republicans,” said Drabinski.

“Any time you become mired in conflict, the stakes increase considerably,” he noted.

Gonzales also stood firm against criticizing a far-right faction within the House that supported his primary challenger in an expensive race costing his campaign $10 million.

Gonzales reported on CNN’s “State of the Union” in April that Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (R), along with Virginia R-Dem Bob Good endorsed my opponent – an admitted Neo-Nazi.

“These individuals used to wear white hoods at night; now, however, they wear them during the daytime,” stated Heumann at that time.

Gonzales stated on Thursday that Republicans need to assess whether they want their party to become the one which provides for real people with conservative values, or simply rhetoric.

“One thing that really gets my goat is when people say: ‘Well, my party left me’ — even among members of my own Democratic Party who often feel this way.”

Instead, he asserted, it is paramount for members of a political party to maintain their individual households.

“As a Republican, my focus lies on producing real results for constituents. While sometimes truth may hurt more than expected, it’s essential that we stop blinding people with politics and deliver what was promised to our constituents.”

“I know I have been overly critical with some of my colleagues. Guess what: the House can be an intense place. To survive here you need to put in your mouthpiece and continue working!”
