“This one stands out, being our first game back after playing in Global Series games,” Maurice commented. “However, in my experience with other teams you may not notice any discernable lag time until nearly seven days have gone by. As soon as we returned, everyone was buzzing with energy; everything felt exciting again; but once back into routine it all lost some oomph; though not necessarily falling off completely, there was just an energy lag between team activities. So we will simply monitor their energy level, making adjustments as necessary if they appear depleted of it. When this is the case, we may tailor what we do on the ice or find ways to excite their nervous systems by pushing hard off ice or other means in order to wake them up and give them energy boosts.
