By carefully monitoring team activity levels at specific points during each weekday and finding which teams have more players involved when most others don’t, you can gain greater flexibility for increasing your lineup’s potential each night. More players in play equals greater likelihood for positive fantasy returns! Every point can make the difference in tight head-to-head competition, where every point can make all of the difference between weekly victory and defeat. By setting a benchmark of six games — when at least 20 other teams, at minimum, are idle — we booked these clubs more on slower nights from November 7 through 30. Consider these teams when making decisions on which available players to acquire or stream.Resources include Goalie Depth Chart | Daily Lines | Projections | Play for free | Player Rater | Most Added/Dropped Lists | Mock Draft Lobby | and How to Watch on ESPN+Vegas Golden Knights: With six “lighter nights” remaining until November’s conclusion, these Knights boast some appealing fantasy performers who could become free agents this season. William Karlsson has made an excellent start to his healthy season debut since returning from injury just last week; prior to Wednesday’s stop in Edmonton he already boasts two goals and three assists on 11 shots in four games – an outstanding return indeed! Attractive and accessible, Pavel Dorofeyev stands out in recent contests with five goals and three assists for five goals scored over his past five outings. At Tomas Hertl’s side on an exciting scoring line, this under-radar winger has quickly expanded on his 13 goals and 11 assists from 47 games last season as a rookie – even while being rostered only 19% of ESPN Fantasy competition! My suggestion? Sign him now before November begins! Vegas will then play four consecutive days against Hurricanes, Ducks, Utah HC and Capitals from Monday – starting off their week-long schedule against them all in order. Dorofeyev could bring us some scoring, while Adin Hill may perform much better after an inauspicious start to his season than previously anticipated. Make sure your league checks for Ilya Samsonov as Hill has shown great promise this year after previously struggling. At last check, he was rostered in less than 70 percent of ESPN Fantasy leagues.Washington Capitals: How about these Capitals! They have started strong this season – an 8-3-0 start and near flawless home record have Washington comfortably keeping pace with some of its more high-powered Metropolitan opponents. Tom Wilson remains available in more than one third of ESPN Fantasy leagues despite Alex Ovechkin and Dylan Strome both scoring at 1.5 real-life points per game, both being amongst the league leaders in real points scored per game. Wilson currently ranks among the top-20 forwards ahead of Wednesday’s matchup against Nashville and is averaging 2.7 fantasy points/contest through scoring, throwing hits, and blocking shots. Editor’s Pick1 RelatedConnor McMichael has had an equally outstanding start to 2024-25 and can compete on scoring lines alongside Wilson and Pierre-Luc Dubois for fantasy points per contest. Rostered in only 37% of leagues, the 23-year-old winger currently leads his team in goals (7) while coming second for shots (33). We look forward to his contributions with that extra skater! I had an opportunity earlier in this season to add McMichael in one of my leagues and now deeply regret not acting upon it. If both Wilson and McMichael are already taken, managers engaged in deeper competition may give Aliaksei Protas some consideration. After an underwhelming start to his Ovechkin’s top line career, Ovi now boasts three goals and four assists through four games – making his presence felt in this year’s playoff race! On defense, Trevor van Riemsdyk has provided assists and blocked an impressive amount of shots while goalie tandem-teammate Logan Thompson has proved himself as the superior fantasy netminder to Charlie Lindgren so far this season. Anaheim Ducks: We must discuss Lukas Dostal. No doubt the Ducks’ young netminder has been outstanding this year; but no other goalie has seen as many shots: 355 through 10 games. Such exposure eventually wears anyone down; as seen with Sunday’s 4-2 loss to Chicago and Tuesday’s 5-1 setback at Vancouver. At least until Anaheim improves their team defense, carefully choose when and where Dostal should play; some match-ups offer greater potential than others. An increase in scoring would also benefit them; they currently rank dead-last with 2.08/game scoring average. It’s your league! Pittsburgh Penguins: Skating alongside Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin has proven rewarding for Rickard Rakell, as he averages 20:20 of ice time alongside both generational players averaging two goals and four assists on 16 shots over his past five games. Only Crosby himself has amassed more (albeit marginal) fantasy points over the last two weeks in conventional leagues. Rakell should be considered for your fantasy roster ahead of the Penguins’ forthcoming lighter night stretch featuring five matches against Red Wings, Blue Jackets and Sharks over next week alone. Keep a keen eye on how Bryan Rust fits back into their lineup once healthy; his return may affect Rakell’s role. Likewise, if production drops immediately from Rust himself. Pull back the chute immediately. Check to make sure he is available himself before taking action. Apart from Crosby and Malkin, Pittsburgh’s fantasy scene remains relatively stable these days. Also notable are teams which tend to play when everyone else does: these teams generally see frequent action when everyone is active on their respective schedules. As November progresses, six teams compete on only one night when less than six games are on tap: Jets, Blues, Rangers, Devils, Oilers and Blackhawks – providing ample reason for an extra bit of fantasy consideration when selecting players over others, all else remaining equal.
