Good morning to all and especially to… THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS The Chiefs have excelled during their two Super Bowl victories by staying within razor thin margins during an incredible journey that culminated with another championship win last night – something which should continue as they pursue an unprecedented third victory this Sunday! Kansas City held on for an exciting 27-20 win against Baltimore Thursday night after Isaiah Likely just edged out-of-bounds near the back of the end zone with no time remaining, scoring just barely out-of-bounds and barely making contact in time to keep Xavier Worthy from becoming out-of-bounds in time for Kansas City to score. To many observers it appeared like Worthy didn’t belong here anymore! But perhaps his NFL debut may finally pay dividends? On his initial NFL touch, this first-round rookie scored on a 21-yard rush touchdown; later he added another 35-yard catch as an insurance play. Rick Upchurch and James Brim are now joined as being among the only wide receivers who can both jog for and catch touchdowns during their NFL debut, joining Patrick Mahomes to break Len Dawson’s franchise passing yards record by over half in just half the games Dawson played for them. Defensive players stood strong against Derrick Henry (46 yards rushing). Mahomes improved to 5-1 against Lamar Jackson. He’s one of the only quarterbacks with more than three wins against Jackson. Kansas City made significant offensive advancements this past season. Jared Dubin makes note of these progresses. Dubin: Rashee Rice, Travis Kelce, Isiah Pacheco and Justin Watson all caught 20-plus yard passes outside their normal offensive system during Kansas City’s season opener… This morning was also an honorable mention… but not quite such a pleasant start.” Honorable mentions And not so pleasant start
Getty Images; Baltimore Ravens John Harbaugh raised both fingers to indicate his team was going for two and hoping to come away victorious in this game. They attempted to go for two, not just win.
They never got that chance – it was truly a game of inches. Jackson led his team with 273 passing yards and another 122 on the ground; but was only 1 for 8 in goal-to-go situations and scored only once on goal drives (including all 3 on final drive)! To defeat Kansas City you need near perfection; unfortunately Jackson wasn’t even close – yet another example of near perfection falling just short! So close yet so far away; here are my non-honorable mentions NFL Week 1 Picks plus bold predictions plus bold predictions (plus some fun bold predictions!) for Week 1.

One down, 271 to go! The NFL season has officially kicked off and will continue with an epic Friday-night showdown between the Packers and Eagles tonight as Brazil hosts its inaugural NFL game! Don’t miss it — an unbelievable contest between an emerging Packers squad hoping Jordan Love takes another step forward against an impressive Eagles side looking to establish themselves back into Super Bowl contention after an uneven end of last season – what do Brinson’s best bets show us about tonight!?
Brinson writes, “Packers (+2) — On Friday night I expect them to come out swinging hard with their revamped offense led by Josh Jacobs and an aggressive run game with Love dispersing ball to numerous playmakers.” Add that Philadelphia will have to adjust to a new offensive coordinator (Kellen Moore), without Jason Kelce or Fletcher Cox and I believe we could see an uneven start by Philly against an impatient Packers team primed for an extended playoff run. On Sunday, one of my favorite matchups is between C.J. Stroud’s Texans and Anthony Richardson’s Colts; these young quarterbacks provide plenty of excitement… Tyler Sullivan expressed some concerns with Richardson; at times it appeared he could break through and become an immediate MVP candidate.” And yet I sometimes question his chances in the league due to his still-developing passing ability. Who’s playing well though? Stroud. I never question Stroud! Projected score: Texans 27, Colts 17 | Our experts’ pick is: “Texans -2.5”. Here are all our experts’ selections: Pete Prisco | Will Brinson | Tyler Sullivan | John Breech | Jordan Dajani I have three picks myself for Week 2. These include… Dolphins over Jaguars; Seahawks over Broncos; Chargers over Raiders; Finally, to complete our season preview… College football Week 2 Picks and Previews are below!

After an exciting Week 1, college football’s second week promises even more thrills and spills, with No. 3 Texas facing No. 10 Michigan (preview). Dennis Dodd highlights two programs undergoing very different experiences – Texas being forward-focused while Michigan looking towards its past (Dennis Dodd: “Texas hasn’t looked back since 2008 when its victory at USC came at their expense). Dodd comments: Certain individuals at Michigan are taking stock. The Wolverines enter Saturday’s matchup facing quarterback turmoil; Alex Orji was passed over for Davis Warren as their starter; now Davis Warren must prove he can retain this pivotal spot. Texas began the season boasting one of the strongest quarterback duos in Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning, and Tom Fornelli sees this matchup as his strongest bet among his six Pack.
Nico Iamaleava from Tennessee has captured my heart, and there’s no shame in admitting it. The kid possesses incredible talent and performance, which I find striking. Witnessing him become poised and polished even with so little experience is astounding – reminds me of watching guys like Andrew Luck, Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow and Caleb Williams play….
