Datsyuk was also honored to capture both Gagarin Cup and Stanley Cup titles simultaneously – joining an elite club of KHL champions who achieved such an accomplishment. Datsyuk will forever be remembered for his creativity and vision on the ice – making him an annual highlight reel staple during late 2000s/early 2010s hockey seasons. Datsyuk was known for his elite skill set while remaining one of the NHL’s most defensively responsible forwards, earning himself induction into the Hockey Hall in June and considering it a “lucky boy”. Natalie Darwitz made her mark by being honored during her initial year of eligibility – also an overwhelming choice to be inducted. Darwitz and Krissy Wendell-Pohl become the first two women honored as part of an inducted class since 2010.Darwitz stands as an outstanding American women’s hockey player with two Olympic silver medals and one bronze to her credit; additionally she won three World Championship golds as well as two Four Nations Cup victories during her illustrious career. Olympian Carrie Wendell-Pohl excelled when it mattered most, scoring 25 points over 15 Olympic matches and leading Minnesota Golden Gophers to consecutive national championships (2004 & 2005) under her leadership. Shea Weber of the 2003 NHL draft class holds second all-time American points per game at World Championships (2.00), earning MVP recognition when Team USA earned its inaugural world Championship title that year. As part of that historic achievement, Weber won numerous tournament championships that year including WHL Memorial Cup World Juniors World Championships Olympic titles and was MVP. Under his management, Nashville made 14 playoff appearances, won two division titles and a Presidents’ Trophy and received their inaugural finals appearance under him in 2017.
