Heat plan on honoring franchise icon Pat Riley by naming their court after her.

Pat Riley’s role in turning Miami into an NBA city will soon receive recognition, although Heat franchise wasn’t initially household names until recent decades when led them to three Larry O’Brien trophies under Pat.
“Pat Riley led South Beach through 30 years, three championships, and untold moments that would not have been possible without him leading.” With such an accomplishment comes honorary mention at opening night celebration. “Without him at the helm, none of it would have been possible! “
“Pat has contributed so much to both his franchise and city that his name should forever remain etched upon the hardwood, reminding all of us of his contributions,” stated part owner and managing general partner Micky Arison in a statement.

Pat Riley deserves this tribute as she first started coaching with them back in 1995 as head coach, leading from the bench during their maiden championship victory in 2006. Riley would go on to bring LeBron James and Dwayne Wade onto his rosters while winning another two championship titles during her time there.
His influence is such that it has also brought in prominent athletes like Tim Hardaway, Alonzo Mourning, Shaquille O’Neil and Jimmy Butler among many more. “Micky and I have shared an extraordinary journey over these past 30 years together,” Riley noted in his statement.

Sources speculate that Riley has grown weary of Jimmy Butler throughout their years together and may consider finding another leader elsewhere.
Jimmy Butler has not managed to play 70 games for Miami yet in any season; last season alone he appeared in 60. No doubt Jimmy is among the world’s greatest guards when healthy; unfortunately his health issues often prevent this happening when Miami needs his services the most.
Last campaign, for example, after they missed their Round 1 playoff series against the Celtics he became well known for his frequent and public insults against them online.
