David Goffin finished in the Top 25 for seven consecutive years from 2014-20, yet injuries – part and parcel with ageing – began taking their toll more recently; one such knee injury sidelined his season after US Open 2021. Goffin was in the Top 20 during August that season – however has never seen that ranking return and has spent many weeks outside of it over recent seasons.
