Context No evidence suggests an underground swimming tunnel exists; however, media coverage of Combs’ property revealed it had a pool with an underwater tunnel leading into an adjacent grotto.
As Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested for charges including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy in 2024, social media users suggested authorities found an underground tunnel underneath his Los Angeles residence.
One post stated: “Despite their discovery of [a tunnel], neither the Federal government or mainstream media have provided photos or statements concerning any possible linkages between this tunnel and Playboy mansion located nearby.”

However, no proof exists to corroborate such claims of an underground tunnel connecting Combs’ Playboy Mansion with one of his mansions with an underwater swimming tunnel – though news reports suggested otherwise. Snopes reached out to U.S. Department of Justice regarding an apparent law enforcement raid and have classified this claim as unsubstantiated until we hear otherwise from law enforcement or more information becomes available – until then we consider this claim unsubstantiated and rate as unfounded
Reports indicate that in March 2024, Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami were raided by Homeland Security Investigation agents as part of an ongoing probe by Homeland Security Investigations agents. His Los Angeles mansion, per Reuters sources, is located in Holmby Hills – in close proximity to his Playboy Mansion but with no known underground tunnel connecting the two properties.
However, Combs owns an underground swimming tunnel in his Los Angeles mansion according to a 2014 Los Angeles Times report on his purchase. A European-style villa included “a lagoon-style swimming pool connected by an underwater tunnel”.
According to news reports, 200 South Mapleton Drive is home of this mansion. Gossip site Page Six released photos of its exterior and reported its sale for $61 million by September 2024; listings and photographs for that address can also be found on Realtor.com and Zillow property sales sites as well as Getty Images photographs from March 2024 matching these descriptions – although its underground swimming tunnel may have been obscured within these pictures; per the listings.

As stated by indictment documents, during March 2024 raids conducted against Combs’ Miami and Los Angeles properties, investigators discovered narcotics, firearms, ammunition and supplies used at his “Freak Off” parties – parties where elaborate and produced sexual performances that Combs orchestrated were produced under coercion from victims to take part in them.
As news of Combs’ arrest spread online, charges of prostitution trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and interstate transportation for prostitution were leveled against him as well as sexual assault allegations brought before court against him.
He remains behind bars awaiting his trial as of this writing (Sources).
