British weather may have rendered outside courts impassible on Friday, yet half of the women’s draw was completed and seeded Jasmine Paolini, Madison Keys, Emma Navarro amongst others won in their Last 16 matches at The Wimbledon Championships. “While this may not be my inaugural appearance at a Grand Slam tournament, this experience has special meaning because only months earlier I wasn’t even sure I could continue playing tennis – making my presence here very meaningful indeed! Paolini joked last week in Eastbourne about being safe now that Errani is pregnant: her semi-final run demonstrated her grass-court potential and showcased volleying and aggressive play that won 14 out of 17 points at the net! Paolini won three doubles titles together with Sara Errani prior to Paris; one victory earned them into Paris final together as well. “Yes! I am definitely enjoying!” Paolini exclaimed afterward. “Sara and I are making great strides toward becoming better doubles players together with my coach’s guidance. This really does help; when playing next to Sara I feel much calmer.” Because it’s impossible to know, I must always remain cautiously optimistic; but overall, I am feeling somewhat better now. (Photo credit: Clive Brunskill/Getty Images)Both former college players — Emma is Ben Navarro of Charleston tournament owner fame, while Shnaider hails from Russia where her father was an ex-boxer and mother an English teacher — she and Shnaider met while competing together at Roland Garros this year in doubles against Hsieh Su-Wei and Elise Mertens’ opponents this time round at Roland Garros; when approaching the net after defeat on Friday she pulled in Shnaider in for an embrace before going up against Coco Gauff next round on Monday morning before facing Coco Gauff once more on Monday morning! “My goal is always to form strong bonds between my opponent and I,” she stated after qualifying for the second week in consecutive majors. “Having an amicable relationship with an opponent helps create an enjoyable atmosphere where, yes, we both want to beat each other but ultimately are both striving for similar goals, making things positive overall.” “By spreading positive energy instead of negative, tennis in its original form has long been seen as an expression of sportsmanship and camaraderie; I also appreciate how sports brings so many diverse individuals together.” “Navarro exudes an approachable nature which she attributes to having kept since she was young; nothing on court seems to rattle her with her casual, loose-limbed style emanating from these peaceful energies. However, tennis requires one to experience many emotions.” She added. “My life can be pretty stressful at times, and while that can be challenging at times, my calm has always remained intact,” the 26-year-old stated. “That is also what has made me the player I am: always wanting more, never giving up regardless of the difficulty. “Badosa rallied from one break down in the final set to end Kasatkina’s seven-match win streak after coming back from being four sets down and 2 hours 51 minutes of battle. She battled from being four games behind at four in each set and eventually prevailed after coming from four down four sets later to claim victory after coming from behind.” “This may not be my first Grand Slam appearance in the second week,” Badosa stated on court, “but for me personally it has a special significance as just months ago I wondered whether or not I could still play tennis at all – so to have made it here is indeed very special indeed. ” The 26-year old did not hold back tears after her hard-fought win that brought her into Wimbledon’s second week for only the third time ever and first since suffering a debilitating back injury that caused her to retire 12 months ago due to its severity. However, with cortisone shots helping build belief back into her body and determination not letting it pass her by unnoticed, Badosa is slowly building trust again in herself and tennis is making its comeback once more – one reason being her fans; Badosa stated “one reason I come out on court is really for you guys – hearing my name or hearing cheering from you guys gives me courage as soon as I step onto court and feel loved by everyone a long way back out there!” Badosa explained her return on court by thanking fans; hearing my name being cheered back was truly appreciated; Badosa felt their support! She told them “One reason for coming back out on court was my love from them all!” Badosa thanked everyone involved, thanking them with special thanks. She told them all how she felt loved from them when hearing them hearing my name being cheered from you guys; thanking my name from hearing all your cheering for my name out on court it makes all worth while I feel their cheering from which Badosa went back on court when told her name from behind her and cheered off just that feeling loved from hearing and thanking crowd, “One reason behind coming out there again was really because one reason they heard and felt it when back out there too. Thanking crowd. You guys thanking & thanked crowd and thanked & thanked back that way & thanking. She felt this love. Thanks!” and then thanked so much love too &ampling!
