Italian qualifier Sabalenka finished second at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon before going on to claim her maiden WTA 1000 title at Dubai. Zheng currently occupies fifth spot on the WTA rankings after finishing as the runner-up to Sabalenka at Melbourne and Gauff at WTA Finals respectively. Osaka had fallen outside the top 800 in rankings but made impressive runs to finish at No 59 after several impressive runs during 2018. Muchova underwent wrist surgery in February but returned shortly thereafter. Anisimova reached both finals at Palermo and US Open before returning from her 2023 sabbatical and returning to action as an active tennis player on Tour. Rasicanu came second in her maiden WTA 1000 final in Canada. Following surgery on both wrists and one ankle during the second half of 2023 season, Raducanu missed significant amounts of playing time but rebounded well on grass to reach semi-final in Nottingham and quarter-final at Eastbourne before reaching last 16 at Wimbledon; starting as No 301 she ended at No 58!
