There’s more than meets the eye when it comes to managing a successful office environment – from staff training courses, through meeting clients face to face and finally the office itself – when it comes to staff development a great many companies fail. The Penguins practiced Sunday at UPMC Sports Complex in Cranberry with all three goaltenders present – Joel Blomqvist received most of the reps on one side while Alex Nedeljkovic and Tristan Jarry, newly activated from AHL conditioning loan, shared time on both ends. Tristan Jarry has since been activated from AHL conditioning loan stint. In addition, forward Matt Nieto was given to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on conditioning loan by Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh Penguins (@penguins) on Nov 9, 2024: Jarry reported feeling well after 14-day stint in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Over five games that he started, Jarry posted an impressive 4-1-0 record with a 2.16 GAA and.926% save percentage (SV%); conceding 11 total goals during those starts. “It felt good getting back out there and playing some consecutively games again, as well as my thought I played well overall,” Jarry noted. Jarry realizes it will be challenging to find his rhythm with three goaltenders currently playing for him and recognizes this is part of their job description: they need to develop one before any serious play can start taking place on the ice.” But it won’t come easily: that is part of life too he explained. “Currently we have three goalies; so the three of us need to come together and figure this out together. Each must find his or her own rhythm so we can play efficiently together.” Head coach Mike Sullivan noted that goalie issues will likely resolve themselves over time. “Ultimately, three goaltenders may prove necessary,” said Sullivan. “However, in the short term we feel confident we have three capable goaltenders; Blommer has done very well thus far.” Ned has also shown himself to be reliable. Jars’ portfolio speaks for itself here – so we will devise a game plan which keeps these guys active throughout. Goaltending Decisions Loom Large for PenguinsWith Jarry back, goaltending decisions become even more of an issue for them. Cody Glass suffered from concussion and has been placed on injured reserve, according to reports. Kevin Hayes had originally been designated day-to-day but now appears as week-to-week due to injury concerns. With both players on IR and Matt Nieto out on an AHL conditioning stint of 14 days for conditioning purposes, it leaves no extra forwards available on defense for Pittsburgh against Detroit this Wednesday and Columbus and San Jose both Friday/Saturday respectively.
