NBA 2K25 predicts an exciting upcoming season: Celtics fall behind, Luka Doncic becomes MVP and there will be a new champion crowned.

Following in the footsteps of College Football 25 and Madden, NBA 2K25 simulates an entire NBA season for you to experience! Jason Kidd earned the NBA Coach of the Year honor for leading Dallas to their second highest win total ever (67-15 in 2006-07). As there’s plenty more to say when discussing the Mavericks, we will leave this conversation here for now.LeBron, Bronny & the Lakers Have Prolonged SeasonBronny James did not appear once during 2K simulation of Lakers season — something which seems highly unlikely when actual play commences next month. On the opposite end of the spectrum was LeBron James who managed to play all 82 games (something which almost certainly won’t occur this season as he will turn 40 soon and begin his 22nd NBA campaign). LeBron averaged 21.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 7 assists per game during an average 30 minute play session. MPG would drop for the first time ever and points average the lowest since his rookie season of 2003-04. On defense, however, his contributions did increase from previous two seasons spent in Los Angeles by contributing 2.3 stocks per game – something his prior two teams in California never could match up with. The Los Angeles Lakers finished 42-40 this season and finished eighth in the Western Conference to make an appearance in the play-in tournament. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)Trail Blazers Take Bottom PlaceStaying in the Western Conference, Portland posted one of the worst records in NBA 2K simulation by finishing 24-58 overall this season. If this were to occur, Portland Blazers’ record would actually improve by three wins over their 21-61 mark during 2023-24, but it would mark four consecutive losing seasons at home – their longest such stretch since 1970-71 through 1975-76 seasons. Portland Blazers will find consolation in knowing their 2025 draft class will be deep. Chicago Bulls Surge To Victory In an unexpected outcome, Chicago beat Phoenix Suns and won the NBA Cup tournament, the league’s second annual in-season tournament. Zach LaVine, who missed much of 2023-24 due to foot pain, scored 33 points in a championship game that finished 122-93 in favor of Houston. Of all of Paul George’s moves in recent offseason trades and free agency moves, only Paul George avoided significant decline during simulation testing. Klay Thompson posted impressive numbers during his inaugural season away from Golden State; playing all 82 games while scoring 15.9 PPG – marking only his second ever full year as an NBA starter since his rookie campaign in 2003-04 with Los Angeles Clippers. In terms of Klay’s playing ability away from Golden State, his numbers with Dallas were similar: 22.7 points per game on average along with 5.21 rebounds and 4.34 assists per contest compared with 2023-24 numbers with Clippers (at Clippers he averaged 20.7 PPG average). Dejounte Murray (Pelicans), Mikal Bridges (Knicks) and DeMar DeRozan (Kings) all experienced decreases in production as well.Victor Wembanyama earned his first All-Star game appearance and DPOY trophy after finishing second in voting as a rookie player. San Antonio Spurs sophomore sensation Patrick Beverley led the NBA with an astounding average of 3.2 blocks per game and also recorded 1.5 steals each week. Suffice it to say, San Antonio finished 41-41 (plus-19 wins from 2023-24). Finally, Timberwolves guard Rob Dillingham made headlines as an unexpected winner of Rookie of the Year; his performance saw an average of 10.2 points, 1.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game playing alongside Anthony Edwards for Minnesota – earning All-Rookie first team honors alongside Zaccharie Risacher (Hawks), Alex Sarr (Wizards), Reed Sheppard (Rockets), Terrence Shannon Jr and Dillingham himself! But surprise winner was Timberwolves guard Rob Dillingham himself – his performance made him No 8 overall pick from 2024 draft! But most noteworthy? That dubious distinction belongs to the Boston Celtics, who somehow managed to finish 40-42 (an astounding 24 win decline from 2023-24) and ninth in the Eastern Conference. After making it out of their play-in tournament and quickly being bounced from postseason play-off contention by Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks respectively, Boston was eliminated quickly from further playoff consideration. As far as events go, this seems extremely unlikely: three legendary point guards announce they’re retiring: Chris Paul (Spurs), Russell Westbrook (Nuggets), and Kyle Lowry (76ers). As soon as the simulation began, Paul informed me of his decision and I suggested an official retirement tour for an All-Star with 12 seasons under his belt. Paul helped San Antonio improve to.500 but never managed an NBA championship victory during his career. Each veteran’s former teams promptly honored them by retiring their numbers: Clippers for Paul; Thunder for Westbrook; Raptors for Lowry – respectively Toronto and Los Angeles were the only NBA franchises without retiring their numbers (excluding Bill Russell’s league-wide No. 6). Luka Doncic earned his maiden MVP Award by nearly averaging triple doubles during this season. Luka Doncic led the NBA in scoring (30.8 PPG), was ninth in rebounding (11.1 RPG) and second in assists (9.8 APG), all while compiling an outstanding 50/84/42 shooting split en route to compiling 50-84-42 stats on 50 shots taken per game and 42 field goals attempted per game (50/84) for his 508442 shot total this year.
