This November marks the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, and not surprisingly, studios and networks will be flooding the zone with investigative and dramatic features.

Wednesday, Exclusive Media released the trailer for its Kennedy-themed feature film, “Parkland.” Here’s a guide to this and other upcoming entries to the JFK pop culture canon:

“The Butler”

What is it? An Oscar bait-y, historical drama that follows a black White House butler as he serves multiple presidents during the civil rights movement. President Kennedy plays a small but memorable role.

What’s it based on? Very loosely on this Washington Post profile of Wil Haygood.

When does It come out? In theaters now.

Who plays Kennedy? James Marsden and his performance was ranked best of “The Butler” presidents by New York Magazine.

What else do we know about it? Well if you haven’t seen it yet, the critical response has been mostly good.

“Parkland”

What is it? A Tom Hanks-produced feature film about the ordinary people in Dallas wrapped up in the events surrounding Kennedy’s assassination.

What’s it based on? The book “Four Days In November.”

When does it come out? Oct. 4.

Who plays Kennedy? No one. By the looks of the trailer, the film will depend on archival footage of the president.

What else do we know about it? The rest of the cast includes Zac Efron, Marcia Gay Harden, Ron Livingston, Paul Giamatti and Billy Bob Thorton, playing the doctors, nurses, secret service agents, reporters and investigators involved in the day’s drama.

“JFK: The Smoking Gun”

What is it? A ReelzChannel investigative documentary that explores the possibility of a second shooter – a secret service agent whose gun allegedly accidentally discharged the bullet that killed Kennedy.

When does it come out? Nov. 3.

What’s it based on? Bonar Menninger’s book “Mortal Error: The Shot That Killed JFK” and the work of former detective Colin McLaren.

What else do we know about it? ReelzChannel has a history of dipping into controversial Kennedy fare. It aired the “The Kennedys” after the miniseries was dropped The History Channel, which was rumored to be facing pressure from the Kennedy family.

“Cold Case: JFK”

What is it? The PBS science series NOVA and top forensic experts will re-examine the evidence from Kennedy’s death, including new technology like a “ballistic Doppler radar” and a “virtual autopsy of JFK’s body.”

When does it come out? Nov. 11.

What else do we know about it? John McAdams, a “leading JFK assassination expert,” said at a Television Critics Association panel about the show that the forensic evidence disproves any conspiracy theories.

“Killing Kennedy”

Rob Lowe as President John F. Kennedy on the set of National Geographic Channel’s "Killling Kennedy," which started production on June 11, 2013, in Richmond, Va. Nat Geo will air the television event this November.

What is it? A follow up to National Geographic’s hit docu-drama “Killing Lincoln.”

What’s it based on? Bill O’Reilly’s book of the same name.

When does it come out? November

Who plays Kennedy? Rob Lowe.

What else do we know about it? Ginnifer Goodwin plays Jackie Kennedy, and Jack Noseworthy, Will Rothhaar and Michelle Trachtenberg also join the cast.
